I would assume that unless you are a water connoisseur or a chemist, you do not know the answer to this question. More likely, you don’t really care! On the other hand, perhaps you are an athlete or avid fitness fan and you have heard about the potential benefits of alkaline water. For those of you who are interested, there is a difference between alkaline and alkalinity.
There needs to be a short chemistry refresher. Water is alkaline if its pH is above 7, which is considered neutral. It is considered acidic if its pH is below 7. Water’s pH measures the concentration of hydrogen ions in the water. Alkaline refers to a basic compound(more negatively charged hydroxyls-OH. Acidic refers to water with more hydrogen ions
How to Measure PH

The pH of water is a measure of its acidity or alkalinity.
The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14, where a pH of 7 is considered neutral.
Values below 7 indicate acidity, with lower numbers representing stronger acidity, and values above 7 indicate alkalinity, with higher numbers representing stronger alkalinity.
The pH scale is logarithmic, meaning each whole pH value represents a tenfold difference in acidity or alkalinity.
Pure water has a neutral pH of 7, but natural water sources can vary in pH due to dissolved minerals and gases.
